Step 1:

Your mattress will begin expanding as soon as the plastic is removed. You can sleep on it right away. Allow 12–48 hours for full expansion. In some cases, it may take up to 72 hours to reach its intended size due to compression during packaging.

Step 2:

Certified, low-VOC foams may have a gentle “new” scent at first. Keep the room ventilated, it will fade within 24–72 hours.

Step 3:

Give it a little time to settle in. The first week may feel firmer than expected which is completely normal, not a defect. Your mattress will feel its true firmness by weeks 3–4.

Most brands talk benefits. We tell you exactly what it’s made of, and what it’s not.

Cross-section product photo of layered mattress or pillow material

The first thing you feel. Contours without swallowing you.

Hip and shoulder pressure. This is the sleep surface.

Holds your spine up so the foam doesn’t turn into a hammock.

Less of their toss-and-turn. Couples notice this by week two.

Keeps the core from drifting.

The Night-to-Night Reality

A woman lies on her side on a gray mattress with a white pillow, shown in a bedroom setting with a blue wall. White dotted lines overlay the mattress to illustrate contouring or support.

How Does It Feel?

Medium-firm. 6 to 6.5 out of 10. Soft enough to land. Steady enough to stay on top. Built for back, side, and stomach sleepers. Not a sink-in cloud. Not a hard board.

You Should Know What It's Made Of.

Visco memory foam on top. A responsive transition layer. A high-density support core. A breathable knit cover. CertiPUR-US® foam. Fiberglass-free. OEKO-TEX® cover. That is the whole list.

A woman unrolls a silver metal bed frame over a slatted base in a styled room with a blue wall, potted plants, and a large cardboard box labeled Bare Home in the foreground.

A Sneak Peek Into 10 Million Sleepers.

the honest breakdown

Designed For How Most People Sleep.

The Clean Classic is medium-firm - about a 6.5 out of 10. A strong fit for most sleepers. The right feel still comes down to your body. You have 100 nights to decide.

Side Sleeper

The fit

Excellent Fit

Enough give at the shoulder and hip, with support underneath so you do not sink. Works best for average to heavier frames. Lighter side sleepers may want something softer.

Sarah

Verified Buyer

Honestly, this is a great mattress!... If you're in the 'I don't know which one to get' just get this one, it's great.

Back Sleeper

The fit

Excellent Fit

Medium-firm is the back-sleeper default. Hips stay up. Lower back does not hammock. This is the position this mattress was built around.

Cortney

Verified Buyer

Firm but not too firm, perfect.

Stomach Sleeper

The fit

Good Fit

Firm enough to keep hips from dropping. If you are a dedicated stomach sleeper who needs extra-firm, this may feel like a middle ground - use the 100 nights.

Nancy

Verified Buyer

10 stars. Buy this mattress. Thank me later... This mattress is worth its weight in gold.

Hot Sleeper

The fit

Good Fit

Open-cell foam, not a heat-trap pillow top. If you sleep very hot, this is a breathable memory foam - not a cool-to-the-touch gel bed. Pair it with percale or bamboo sheets.

Cylas

Verified Buyer

This mattress has been an absolute game changer!... I don't even feel my husband moving around at night. Best mattress around!

Couples

Motion Isolation

Excellent Fit

Foam isolates motion, so one person turning is less of a whole-bed event. Medium-firm also keeps two different bodies from needing two different mattresses.

An 11" medium-firm memory foam mattress. CertiPUR-US® certified foam. Fiberglass-free. OEKO-TEX® cover. One clean classic. This is the mattress.

How does it feel?

Medium-firm, about 6.5 out of 10. Cushion on top. Support underneath. Not a sink-in cloud. Not a hard board.

Will it work for side, back, and stomach sleepers?

That is why we stayed medium-firm. Cushion at the shoulder and hip. Support underneath for back and stomach sleepers. If you already know you need an extra-soft pillow-top or an extra-firm board, this is not that mattress.

Can I try it at home?

Yes. 100 nights in your own room. If it is not the feel you want, send it back.

Does it have fiberglass?

No. The Clean Classic is fiberglass-free.

What certifications does it have?

Foam layers are CertiPUR-US® certified. The cover is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. Foam and cover are certified separately.

Will it smell when I open it?

A light new scent can show up when you open it. Open the windows. It fades in 24 to 72 hours.

How long until I can sleep on it?

Unroll it. You can sleep on it the same day. Give it 24 to 48 hours to expand. Some beds take up to 72 hours to reach full height.

What foundation do I need?

A sturdy, even platform, slats close together, or a proper mattress foundation.

How long should it last?

Built as an everyday mattress with a 10-year limited warranty. Rotate it head-to-foot every few months. Use a protector.

Very Pleased

After more than 10 years of waking up every day to stiff and aching lower back, I finally getting a good nights sleep and wake up with no lower back pain. Also our previous foam mattresses were hot, this Bare Home seems to stay cooler, and I am not rolling around as much to cool off. This is mattress is also much better at dampening my movement.
Side note: the Bare Home Percale sheet sets are wonderful!
We give the combination 6 stars!

Lovin' It!

Honestly, this is a great mattress! I wanted an organic one and it's so hard to choose or know what's ACTUALLY good. This one's actually good. I've never done memory foam before so I was hesitant but I am a convert. Great mattress, highly recommend. If you're in the "I don't know which one to get" just get this one, it's great.

I like mine a little more firm and this one is but it's also cushy. I'm a fan and don't think you can go wrong.

Buy this mattress. Thank me later.
Of course every body is different and everyone has different likes / needs when it comes to a mattress. I prefer a firm-ish surface for sleeping, and this mattress is perfect. Solid. Tough to describe, but when I lie down everything comes to a standstill and this mattress in all its beautiful stability carries me off to blissful sleep. In all my years I've never been happier with a purchase.
This mattress is worth its weight in gold.
On top of that, ordering, shipping, and customer service have been superb from A to Z.
Thank you, Bare Home.
